THE RICHEST OF THEM ALL

       Out of the 196 countries in the world today, 7 continent , 46 countries ,48 Asian countries, 50 European countries, 23 North American countries, 12 South American countries, I became curious to know the richest country amongst them all. I was amused to hear and see a country that it's name isn't that common ' QATAR' ,it was ranked as the world's wealthiest country in a new compiled list by US magazine Forbes. I was also shocked to see U.S at the 6th position But it didn't matter where Some countries are no where to be found in the so called list .
     Qatar, officially 'the state of Qatar 'wait a minute , was this why a state in Nigeria saw ,that made them change their name too? Well, can't blame anyone, good things are good to follow or perhaps richest country is good to imitate. Qatar is  a sovereign Arab country located in Western Asia . Qatar tops the list of the 10 richest countries in the world because of it's record breaking GDP Per capital which is $100,889, it has the highest human development in the Arab world. It is recognized as a high income economy by the world bank. Qatar has a well evolved oil exploration industry and is considered the mainstay of Qatar's economy
    In 2013, Qatar's total population was 1.8 million , at this point , I tried checking for other countries population , I saw a country that has a population of 173.6 million, another country with the population of 13 thousand and something ,but none of these countries were listed . So I was wrong to have thought that population had something to do with how much a country worth. It is striking to note that the petroleum industry control over 70% towards the government revenue in Qatar whereas countries that has more petroleum industries traded theirs with corruption . Qatar's petroleum industry also contribute approximate 85% towards export earnings and over 60% toward GDP .
    Qatar is also one of the nations that has invested hugely in British property and firms . Standard of living in Qatar is high and many expats find living in Qatar a very different experience . Exciting jobs opportunities and equally promising salaries together with the attraction of the country makes Qatar an enticing place . Obviously, this can't be said about other countries . Named countries where graduates and students are not encouraged , lack of employment , too much of poor people over rich ,lack of good salaries to point but a few .
      Let me not bore you with my curiosity , all this is not to boost any country or  weigh any country Down but it's just to let you know that no matter how large or small a country's population is, it is not a factor or barrier for it's economy. A population where corruption is eradicated, where selfishness is not seen , makes a great country . No matter the position of a country now, no matter the current status, it can still be great. Let's stand up and make it right . It begins with you and I.
