KNOW YOUR RIGHT

 We know little about our body and the doctors know almost all about it. We know little about our hair style and the stylists know almost all about it. We know little about houses (at least we know the houses we will like to live in) the constructors still knows almost all about it. Limited is our knowledge of cars even if the choice of which to buy still ours to make, the carmaker knows more about the automobile than the average car user.  How then do we know close to nothing about the law? Even if it’s the duty of the law makers and the enforcers to know all there is about the law, it is your responsibility to know all there is about YOUR RIGHT.

In my findings, a lot of folks don’t know their right. We allow the policemen and other law officials to manipulate us or deprive us of OUR RIGHT. I once heard of an innocent man that was arrested by law enforcement agents without a Warrant of Arrest. It is pertinent to know that a man can choose not to go with a law enforcement officer(s) if a Warrant for his arrest is not shown.
Do you know you have some rights in your dealings with law enforcement officers? Some of these rights include:

-       The right to remain silent. If you are not been reminded of this law by the officer ,you can remind the officers if you are been pressured to speak.
-       You have the right to refuse to consent to a search of yourself, your car or your home;
-       You have a right to a lawyer if you are arrested. You can call one immediately after your arrest or one could be provided to you by the State on request.
How many know that a police request is not an order? I bet you don't know that keeping handshake with a policeman must be visible. I am sure by now you are agreeing with me that there is a lot about YOUR RIGHT you don’t know.
There are few other rights we should be aware of anywhere we find ourselves, examples include; your rights when you fly on a plane, rights as an employee etc.

One thing I am sure many are guilty of, is signing documents before reading through the terms and conditions. Even if breaking a term of service might not necessarily be a crime, it's still a good idea to know what you are agreeing to. There are some laws we often break without realizing. Some of this includes- connecting to secure Wi-Fi networks without appropriate permission, punishable under Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. This law makes it a crime to gain unauthorized access to a computer or a website, wireless routers etc. Using fake names on the internet is also punishable under Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
How about betting with friends/family/relatives? The Illegal Gambling Act makes this an offense.

 So now you agree that you have not been taking your right serious like the Doctors, the Stylist, Constructors, and Carmakers take their job. YOUR RIGHT is your job as a citizen and as an individual, hence you should know more about it than any other person.
While traveling to other countries, take time to read through their laws in order to avoid violating them. If we are truly good citizens of our different countries, let us read through the laws of our countries and know about them.KNOW YOUR RIGHT, ITS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
